After your cannabis harvest, you will want to trim it. In this video ' how to Trim Cannabis', will give you a very basic rundown of how to manicure your own homegrown cannabis.

Trimming cannabis serves several main purposes. Aesthetically speaking, cannabis looks better when well manicured. Cannabis that has been trimmed takes on a tighter, more uniform appearance, much like you would find on a menu at your local dispensary or in the photographs that line your favorite cannabis publications.

How to trim cannabis

Bubble hash is one of many different extracts of cannabis. Bubble hash is made by extracting structures that contain the majority of cannabis active ingredients. These structures are called trichomes. Resembling tiny hairs, they are packed tightly on cannabis flower buds. Bubble hash gets its name from the bubbles that form when the “full melt” bubble hash is smoked. Full melt is an especially refined type of bubble hash.

how to clone

Through cloning, you can create a new harvest with exact replicas of your best-performing plants. Because the genetics are identical, you’re getting a plant with the same characteristics, so if you come across a bud you really, really like, you might want to clone the plant it came from so you can produce more buds with the same effects. Consider taking clones from your garden if you are looking to select and replicate plants with desirable features such as flavor, cannabinoid profile, yield, grow time.

Humboldt Seed Company

Cannabis genetics

Deep in the hills of Humboldt County, we explore how some of the oldest Emerald Triangle strains are being kept genetically healthy, thriving, and best of all seeding! Nathaniel Pennington owner of the Humboldt Seed Company began breeding Cannabis in 2000 while working as a Fisheries Biologist. Cannabis Genetics hold the key to your bud’s effects, flavors, vigor, and growth attributes.the starting material is the most important factor in determining the end quality of each bud, a cannabis plant’s genetics are the starting material and hold extreme value for each strain to reach its potential.

Cannabis & Hemp Life cycle

Cannabis is an annual plant. This means that cannabis goes through its entire life cycle within a year. Generally speaking, most strains of cannabis complete their life cycle, from seed to death, in 4-10 months. Cannabis is one of the few annuals that tend to have separate male and female plants.

The life cycle of the cannabis plant consists of :

  • Germination

  • Seedling

  • Vegetative Period

  • Flowering Period

  • Harvest

training Your craft Cannabis

Pruning and training may just be the most important hands-on bonding experience between you and your cannabis plant. During the vegetative state(pre- flower) your plant will benefit from a little helping hand. Here at Blessed Coast Farms, we spend days on training our cannabis plants. We feel it’s quite possibly the best way to maximize yield without adding a nutrient or bloom booster. It’s also a natural pest preventative and you get sweet bonding time! We would like to share a few training techniques with you.

cannabis Breeding & Genetics

Speak to any “experienced” cannabis grower, and he or she will probably be more than happy to lay down an absurd amount of information regarding distinct cultivars, specific cannabinoid profiles (levels of THC and CBD), terpene content, and so on. In this video, Hallie Pennington of The Humboldt Seed Company visits the Sister Grow Your Own Garden to talk cannabis genetics.

cannabis Harvest

When to harvest your cannabis? If you wait too long to harvest the resin glands will start to degrade. THC and THCV in the buds will also break down into CBN. This cannabinoid produces heavy sedative effects.  Proper harvest and drying will limit the amount of CBN in your final buds. Join us in this video for more Harvest information.

Germinate Seeds

Germination, the emergence of a plant from a seed, requires a warm environment and the absorption of water. Water penetrates the seed coat and activates an enzyme that causes the plant to emerge.

There are many different methods to germinate seeds. The most popular is simply placing the seed into the soil and adding water.  In this video we show you how to germinate seeds with paper towels, 3 plates, three plant tags, water, and a diligent eye.
